# Neutral presentation kit

Reusable PowerPoint and Google Slides templates based on **Neutral Design System 1.0.0**, approved **8 September 2026**. PowerPoint includes **17 example slides**, **two masters** (Paper and Carbon) and **15 layouts** for covers, sections, text, comparisons, images, metrics, charts, tables, quotations, roadmaps and closing slides. Google Slides includes the **17 examples and branded layouts** adapted for that platform.

## Start a presentation

**PowerPoint:** open the `.ttf` files in `fonts/` with Font Book and install them, then restart PowerPoint if it was already open. Open the `.potx` template to start a presentation and save it under a new name as `.pptx`. Choose a layout when adding slides. Duplicate the library examples for detailed chart, metric and table compositions, then replace their content. Chart values are editable through PowerPoint's chart data command.

**Google Slides:** open the template and choose **File → Make a copy**. Rename the copy, select the layouts you need and delete unused examples. Duplicate slides **11–13** for chart presentations; the imported **Chart · Carbon** layout is reserved and blank. Keep the original template available for future presentations.

**Independent Google chart data:** copying a slide deck does not give its linked charts a new data source. Copy the chart library spreadsheet, edit the copied source cells, then insert the charts from that copy using **Insert → Chart → From Sheets** and keep them linked. Replace the original linked charts in your copied deck. After changing spreadsheet data, update the linked charts in Slides. This gives each presentation its own editable data without changing another deck's source.

All sample metrics, tables and chart data are **illustrative**. Replace values, definitions, periods, sources, takeaways and attribution before presenting. Remove the illustrative-data disclosure only after replacing the examples.

## Brand settings

PowerPoint uses **Instrument Sans 500/600** for copy and headings, and **Commit Mono 450/600** for technical detail and emphasis. The supplied static font files preserve those weights.

Google Slides uses **Instrument Sans** and the brand system's approved technical fallback **Consolas**. Consolas uses its available regular/bold weights in place of Commit Mono 450/600. This is a platform compatibility adaptation; Google does not supply Commit Mono. Keep the original logo artwork intact.

The palette uses Paper `#FFFFFF`, Carbon `#1C1C1C`, Ink `#292929` and Cobalt `#093ACD`, with neutral supporting colours. Success, Warning and Error colours are reserved for genuine data states. The canonical [brand guide](https://computeneutral.com/brand/) remains the authority for future changes.

## Verification and current limits

The presentation packages have been checked structurally and rendered for inspection using bundled LibreOffice and native Google rendering. They have **not** been tested in the actual PowerPoint application. Check fonts, line breaks and chart labels when first opening them there.

Chart grid styling is provisional while the existing **Ash versus Stone** source discrepancy awaits a decision. The Google Sheets charts retain Google's plot-gridline defaults because the Sheets REST API does not expose that setting. Spreadsheet cell gridlines are hidden. Exact chart-grid conformance is not claimed.

## Canonical storage and maintenance

This directory is the canonical distributed presentation kit. It ships with the Neutral brand system and is linked from the public brand guide. The Google files above are team workspaces and retain their existing access permissions; a link does not grant access.

For future presentation requests, start from these templates, read this guide, copy the relevant library slides and retain editable charts and tables. Check the current brand contract before adapting them.

Authoring sources and the original build are retained in `outputs/presentation-kit/source/` in the private Neutral Compute workspace. Treat that location as the rebuild source, and this directory as the distributed release. After an authorized revision, replace the distributed assets, update the inventory checksums and ZIP, run `node brand/validate-system.mjs`, synchronize the workspace and publish the brand mirror. Recheck the native Google version independently; rebuilding the PowerPoint files does not update Google Slides.

## Integration record

The kit was created at Manraj's request and added to the canonical guide and system at his explicit follow-up request on 8 September 2026. This records where the usable templates live. It does not resolve the existing chart-grid colour discrepancy or approve new brand tokens.
